Scott’s Journey: Experience, Service, and Dedication
Early Life and Education
Scott grew up in Bennington, VT, where the community values mirrored those of modern day Oak Island. He left Vermont prior to the development of its current political climate. Following his graduation from high school, Scott pursued Music Education at Berklee College of Music in Boston.
Early Career and Entrepreneurship
After college, Scott embraced the life of the sterotypical musician, taking on a variety of service-oriented roles such as cab driver, bartender, and retail worker. For several years, he also operated his own record store.
Relocation and Family
In 1999, Scott, having moved throughout the country over the years, settled in Colorado. He first lived in the Denver area, where he met his wife, Jenny. The couple eventually made their home in the Colorado Springs area until their move to Oak Island. Scott and Jenny have been married for 23 years, and have four children and four grandchildren.
Professional Growth in Technology
Scott began his technology career with an entry-level position at Nextel. In this role, he developed reporting and processes that helped close an eight-figure revenue gap. After the Sprint merger, Scott formed a team to address a newly discovered multi-million dollar revenue leak, earning national recognition for the project. He was later promoted to Financial Services Operations Manager, overseeing a team of over 500 employees and working closely with the C-suite on high-level reporting and process improvements.
Community Service and Church Involvement
Scott was highly engaged in church activities at Fountain Valley Baptist Church, serving as Sunday School Director, VBS Director, Music Director, and Church Council member. He led several community service initiatives focused on supporting low-income families and underprivileged children.
Retirement and Return to Music
In retirement, Scott reconnected with his musical passion. He is now the owner and on-air personality of Music Mafia Radio, a globally recognized and award-winning streaming radio station promoting independent, unsigned artists. Scott also works as a disc jockey on Oak Island and shares his love of Carolina Shag with summer visitors.

Scott’s affection for Oak Island, combined with his leadership experience in management, data analysis, process improvement, and community service, supports his candidacy for Oak Island Town Council. He invites the community to join him in striving for continuous improvement in Oak Island.
